Wage: $12.53-15.74 per hr
Location: Forest Supervisors Office, Cedar City, Utah
The primary responsibilities of this position include Forest-level and project-level monitoring of Regional Sensitive species, threatened, and endangered species monitoring and work with other species and programs as assigned. This position may include other field survey and monitoring tasks, such as collection of vegetation data. ATV’s may be necessary to access some sites and ATV training will be provided. The use of a GPS and other small equipment will be required, training and monitoring/survey techniques will be provided.
No government housing is available, however university housing is available in town.
A valid driver’s license, willingness to operate an ATV, willingness to travel up to 3 nights a week and stay in either guard stations or in a tent. Tent camping will be limited. Out of town travel will be approximately 16-18 days throughout the 4 month position. All camping gear will be provided by the Forest Service except for personal gear such as a sleeping bag. Must have an attitude of support for safety in the workplace.
ALL IIC INTERNSHIPS ARE REQUIRED TO BE TIED TO THE EARNING OF AN ACADEMIC CREDIT. Credits can be EDGE projects, departmental internships, cooperative education, practicums, assignments, research, etc.
