THIS INTERNSHIP IS BASED AT the Bureau of Land Management, Cedar City Field Office:
The BLM Color Country District is hiring a Wildlife/Fuels Technician for the 2018 summer field season (1-2 positions). A portion of the project will be devoted to documenting Sage Grouse Lek indicators (sagebrush cover, current land uses, proximity of trees, etc). Cross training in range, archaeology, fuels and data entry is likely. The majority of work will be in a field setting, across a variety of landscapes and conditions in Southern Utah. A successful applicant is comfortable working in the outdoors; enjoys working with a small team; and has an interest in wildlife, vegetation management and federal agency land stewardship. Previous experience is not necessary; however, applicant should have an eager attitude, and be interested in a career in natural resources.
Housing is not provided.
ALL IIC INTERNSHIPS ARE REQUIRED TO BE TIED TO THE EARNING OF AN ACADEMIC CREDIT. Credits can be EDGE projects, departmental internships, cooperative education, practicums, assignments, research, etc.
