Description: Tribal Relations Intern

Cedar Breaks National Monument is seeking to fill one (1) intern position responsible for assisting the Tribal Relations program with a wide variety of tasks associated with consultation and coordination with tribal governments. Work will be focused on supporting the government-to-government consultation process between the IIC, National Park Service, and tribes. This internship will have the opportunity to work on specific projects to create and maintain relationships between the tribes and various agencies.  While no previous tribal relations experience is required for this position, the applicant should have strong written and verbal communications skills, and a desire to work with tribes and other partners on a wide variety of projects. This internship may have some travel requirements.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to complete projects and assigned tasks
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders and partners
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate good work ethic
  • Basic knowledge of tribes and land management issues related to tribes
