Sustainability & Recycling Intern- Zion National Park

Location: Zion Canyon, Springdale, UT

Description:

THIS INTERNSHIP IS BASED AT ZION NATIONAL PARK

This is a split-time internship.

60% of the time will be dedicated to office work. Incumbent will be assisting the Park’s Environmental Protection Specialist in meeting the park’s environmental goals based off the Park’s Environmental Management System. This position will also focus on environmental compliance in assisting with an internal environmental audit on park operations.

40% of the time will be in the field, collecting and transporting all the recycling in the Zion Main Canyon. Locations include: Visitor Center, Campgrounds, Scenic Drive, and Employee Facilities.

Qualifications:

Consideration will be given to applicants that have:

  1. A valid driver’s license
  2. Ability to work independently

Applicants with these skills and that are pursuing majors in a parks and recreation field will be given strongest consideration: environmental sciences or engineering, outdoor/parks recreation and management, sustainability, tourism and hospitality, and education.

There is no housing provided for this position.
