Recreation Technician – USFS – Fish Lake National Forest (Fillmore)

Position Type: Internship

Open until: March 31, 2018

Wage: $12.53-15.74 per hr

Location: Fillmore Ranger District, Fillmore, UT

Description:

The primary responsibilities of this position include functioning as a member of a multi-person recreation and/or trail maintenance crew responsible for maintaining recreation areas and trails in accordance with standards.  Constructs and rehabilitates minor recreation facilities and trails.  Makes safety checks of public use areas and takes corrective actions.  ATV operation may be required and ATV training will be provided.  The position may involve the use of a GPS and other small equipment; training will be provided for all technical equipment.

Government housing may be available.

Qualifications:

A valid driver’s license, willingness to operate an ATV, ability to follow instructions and function as a member of a team, ability to perform physical labor, ability to work with hand tools, willingness to work outdoors in a variety of conditions.  Must have an attitude in support of safety in the workplace.

ALL IIC INTERNSHIPS ARE REQUIRED TO BE TIED TO THE EARNING OF AN ACADEMIC CREDIT. Credits can be EDGE projects, departmental internships, cooperative education, practicums, assignments, research, etc.
