Range Technician – USFS – Dixie National Forest (Cedar City)

Wage: $12.53-15.74 per hr

Location: Dixie, Cedar City, Ut

Description:

The primary responsibilities of this position includes the spraying of noxious weeds across the district, construction and assistance in completing structural range improvements (fencing and water development) and assist other Forest programs as assigned. ATV’s and UTV’s will be necessary to access some noxious weed sites and ATV/UTV training will be provided. The use of horses may be necessary to access monitoring sites in the back country. Similarly, the position involves the use of a GPS and other small equipment; however, training will be provided for all equ9ipment and monitoring and construction techniques.

Government housing is not available.

Qualifications:

A valid driver’s license, willingness to operate an ATV/UTV, willing to work in rough rock terrain constructing range improvement projects. Out of town travel may occur, but will be on a limited basis. Must have an attitude of support for safety in the workplace.

ALL IIC INTERNSHIPS ARE REQUIRED TO BE TIED TO THE EARNING OF AN ACADEMIC CREDIT. Credits can be EDGE projects, departmental internships, cooperative education, practicums, assignments, research, etc.
