I’m writing today to ask for your help in distributing a survey to your students, friends and networks that focuses on values and behaviors in outdoor visitation. We are hoping to distribute the survey as widely as possible and get responses by June 11.

A little more information:
National Parks Conservation Association Southwest Regional Office has partnered with graduate students in the Masters of the Environment program at the University of Colorado–Boulder on a project to understand the values and behaviors of those recreating outdoors. The survey was designed by the students based on focus group feedback. A description of this project from the students follows:
“Our project aims to assist land managers and agencies across the Southwest on how to message and determine points of intervention on behavior. The survey is designed to get a better understanding of ethics, who/what is most influential, and how social media use informs decisions. At the conclusion of our survey, we plan to develop a pilot campaign based on our findings and create a handbook for land managers by the end of the year. This handbook will provide a creative and innovative tool to influence positive behavior change and effectively message to visitors in the outdoors.”
Your help in filling out the survey yourself and disseminating the survey to your networks—particularly of young people—would be greatly appreciated. Please communicate the completion deadline: Monday, June 11.
Thank you—let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
