Natural Resource Program – NPS Zion National Park

Wage: $11.68-12.74 / Hour (depending on experience and education)

Description:

THIS INTERNSHIP IS BASED AT ZION NATIONAL PARK

40 hours/week, 8 hours/day, weekends/evenings occasionally required, 14 week internship. Will work in several different capacities in resource management, Wildlife Program duties will include monitoring California Condors and Peregrine Falcon nests, conducting mule deer surveys, assisting with Mexican spotted owl surveys, and interacting with park visitors to provide information about the park’s wildlife (approximately 2 days week). Other duties will include digitizing and organizing research permits and working with exotic plant management team. 

Qualifications:

Consideration will be given to applicants that have good interpersonal skill, ability to complete strenuous outdoor work including hiking and potentially night work, as well as the ability to keep good field notes and organize a data in an office setting.  Applicants that possess these skills and who are pursuing a degree in fields related to parks and recreation management and or biological sciences, will be given greatest consideration.

There is no housing available for this position.
