Lead Rangeland Management Internship – BLM Kanab Field Office

Description:

This Internship is based at the Kanab Field Office in Kanab, UT:

Assist the Rangeland management staff in conducting inventory and monitoring of rangeland resources, including weeds, and range conditions and working with a wide variety of natural resources, cultural resources, and other government employees. This position will provide basic oversight of fellow interns and take the lead on projects assigned by the mentor, such as weed treatments, vegetation monitoring, and range improvement projects.  This position may require some limited work on the weekends and limited overnight camping.

Qualifications:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Some knowledge in one or more of the following areas is helpful but not required; biology, physical science, botany
  • Leadership experience

The availability of housing in Kanab is limited, the selected intern will be responsible to find their own housing.

Applicants who possess these skills and who are pursuing a degree in fields related to Rangeland Management, and Wildlife Biology will be given greatest consideration.
