Description:

THIS INTERNSHIP IS BASED AT THE BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT- CEDAR CITY FIELD OFFICE

The focus will be directed primarily toward data collection, manipulation, and technical user support for all aspects of geospatial data, analysis, and software. The intern would be performing GIS duties that may include; field inspections of uses on public lands (i.e. communication sites, transmission lines, etc.); completing database entry, development of project objectives, evaluation of adequacy of existing data sources, creation\modification of GIS coverages, databases, analysis, and preparation of final output products working in Enterprise GIS. Extensive experience will be gained working with a diverse group of resources specialists, planners, and managers to coordinate and implement GIS activities. The intern must identify requirements and implement analytical techniques necessary to solve GIS issues.

 

Qualifications:

Consideration would be given to applicants that have:

  1. Prior GIS experience
  2. Currently perusing or have obtained the GIS certificate
  3. Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as participate effectively in collaborative efforts.

 

Applicants who possess these skills and who are pursuing a degree/certificate in fields related to the above qualifications will be given greatest consideration.
