Wage: $12.53-15.74 per hr
Location: Fremont River Ranger District, Loa, UT
Job Entails assisting with marking, cruising, and laying out timber sales. Data collection may also occur. This will entail measuring and identifying trees, use of field software and measuring equipment, taking pictures, etc. Most work will be accomplished in mountainous terrain under various weather conditions. Training on equipment use, data collection, etc will be provided. All equipment will be provided by the Forest Service.
Government housing may be available.
Applicants must have appropriate clothing for mountainous terrain. This includes leather boots that are above the ankles (no tennis shoes). Safety equipment such as hard hats and vests will be provided by the Forest Service. Applicants must have a good attitude and work well in group settings. Must have an attitude of support for safety in the workplace.
ALL IIC INTERNSHIPS ARE REQUIRED TO BE TIED TO THE EARNING OF AN ACADEMIC CREDIT. Credits can be EDGE projects, departmental internships, cooperative education, practicums, assignments, research, etc.
