Engineering Technician – Dixie National Forest

The Dixie National Forest is hiring up to 3 Road Surveyors/Engineering Technicians; the office location is at 1789 North Wedgewood Lane in Cedar City and the starting hourly rate will be $14.07. Field work will require travel in the summer at ALL times. The position being offered must be willing to travel across Intermountain region (Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado) surveying roads. The Intern will have a work cycle that will spend Monday through Saturday traveling and completing field work (70-80 hours), and then one day the next week (2-8 hours) completing office work and rest of the week off. We will be traveling to these locations to be surveying gravel roads. Looking for issues in the roads and recording them for the regional office. This position has both field and office elements which are listed below. A thorough understanding or capability of each of these tasks is not required; but a positive attitude to an aptitude to learn and apply new skills is essential.
