Wage: $12.75 per hour plus per diem DOE

Location: Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument, AZ (office: Saint George, UT)

THIS INTERNSHIP IS BASED AT GRAND CANYON-PARASHANT NATIONAL MONUMENT

Intern will assist interpretive staff with a variety of tasks including outreach and education programs, and the creation of media products. Field time will be spent creating video clips for use in interpretive videos. The intern will create interpretive media that meets accessibility guidelines and NPS/BLM interpretive standards. Field time and will require overnight camping, late nights and conducting work in high temperatures (excess of 100°F). Camping gear will be provided.

HOUSING IS NOT PROVIDED

Qualifications:

Field Qualifications:

  1. Valid driver’s license
  2. Knowledge of how to care for yourself and others in the outdoors
  3. Experience operating a 4 wheel drive truck a plus
  4. Comfortable working in remote areas with a small group of people
  5. Capable of quickly adapting to changing plans and priorities

Office Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  2. Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Premier Pro

ALL IIC INTERNSHIPS ARE REQUIRED TO BE TIED TO THE EARNING OF AN ACADEMIC CREDIT. Credits can be EDGE projects, departmental internships, cooperative education, practicums, assignments, research, etc.
