Biology Technician – NPS – Escalante National Monument

Position Type: Internship

Open until: Thursday, May 31, 2018 or until filled

Wage: $12.19  – $13.68 per hr doe

Location: Escalante or Cannonville, Utah

Description:

Intern selected will utilize and increase skills in wildlife management including capturing and handling wildlife, inventorying and monitoring rangeland, natural resources, collection of seeds, and natural resource data collection and management. This position may require some limited work on the weekends and limited overnight camping. Weekly Work Schedule will be 40 hours per week, Mid May  – End of August. Intern will be exposed to a variety of weather conditions (temperatures 45 – 105+ degrees).

Must provide own living quarters. Escalante and/or Cannonville are small communities with limited services available.

THIS INTERNSHIP IS BASED AT BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT, GRAND STAIRCASE-ESCALANTE NATIONAL MONUMENT

 

Qualifications: Some experience in one or all of the following is helpful but not necessary to apply for the internship position: biology, botany, physical science, zoology.  Must have valid driver’s license. Background check required upon selection.
