2015 End of Season Gathering Acknowledgments

2015 Intergovernmental Internship Cooperative, IIC, End of Season Acknowledgments

The IIC held its annual “End of Season Gathering” at the SUU Mountain Center last Friday, August 21st.  The event was a huge success, and the IIC staff would like to formally thank all of the interns, partners and SUU faculty and staff that contributed their time and efforts in making this an incredible season.

IIC Training:

The IIC continues to strive in providing current and updated training programs for the interns. During the 2015 IIC season the following individuals, within partner agencies, contributed significantly to the on-going improvement of these programs. The IIC would like to recognize them for their efforts:

  • Liz Kolle, Back Country Ranger, BLM Grand Staircase National Monument.  Liz provided multiple first aid trainings and talks for IIC interns and crewmembers this summer.
  • James McNitt, NPS Bryce Canyon National Park Ranger. Jim and colleagues from Bryce Canyon National Park provided Wilderness Remote First Aid Training as part of the IIC Crew Leaders training.
  • William Roach, BLM. William spent an entire day teaching two Defensive Driving classes to the IIC interns who required the Federal Defensive Driving class.
  • Kim Soper and colleagues from the Dixie National Forest and the Cedar City Utah Conservation Corps branch for helping teach the S212 chainsaw certification class.

Southern Utah University:

The IIC could not provide the programs and services offered without the incredible efforts and contributions from SUU Departments.  These contributions not only assisted the IIC with daily operations but more importantly helped to excite and interest students in the IIC Program.

  • The President’s Office
